Belgian Health Insurance for foreign and exchange students

STUVO+ strongly advises all international students to take out a Belgian health insurance in case you do not have an insurance in your home country (eg. travel insurance or local health insurance) that covers your medical expenses during your stay abroad. In the information leaflet from PARTENAMUT you can read the details about the Belgian health insurance, the cost for EU students with a European Health Insurance Card and for non-EU students, the reimbursement and advantages Partenamut offers for reimbursements of medical costs.
At the info market on September 24th you already had the opportunity to register or ask questions and check out the service Partena offers to students.

On November 26th, Partena will organize a follow-up meeting for all students who still need to hand in documents, have questions about their specific situation or the costs or for those students who still want to register.

Location: T’Serclaes, 1st floor, room A-01-03
Time: 12 am until 2 pm

If you cannot make it that day and you still have questions, specifically for your situation, or if you want to register for the time you will stay in Belgium, you can directly go to the PARTENAMUT office at De Brouckère (5 minutes’ walk from campus) or send an e-mail to our contact person:

You will need following documents to start the registration process:

  • A copy of your passport
  • An original proof of registration at KU Leuven Campus Brussel
  • European Health Insurance Card (only for EU students)
  • Annex 15 (in case you are registered at the commune) until you receive the actual Belgian residence permit card
  • -(Belgian) bank account number
